James Elbert Broyhill
(1919?-1949+ ), son of Benjamin Harold Broyhill
Annie Lee Hartley (1920??-1968?), wife of James Elbert Broyhill.
Elbert appears on the 1920 census in his parents household as
a son of Benjamin. Dewey Broyhill did not name a James as a son
of Benjamine, but did name a John, who is not listed on the census.
Dewey said that he married an Annie Lou. Watauga County death
records show that Annie Lee Broyhill died on Dec. 4, 1968, that her
maiden name was Hartley and that her husband was "Johnny" Broyhill.
Two known children: Cora V. Broyhill, born in Watauga County on July
26, 1941; and James E. Broyhill Jr., born Watauga County Aug. 19,
1949.
In view of son being named "James Jr." and the reference to
her husband being "Johnny," could have been a nickname, but Dewey said
that John married a girl named Bishop.
Reported a WWI vet 6 children. Moved to Sevierville,
Tennessee
Note that
James
Burl Broyhill was born about the same time. |
